Ditch the G10. Lose the Weight. The standard Para 3 is built on nested stainless steel liners with G10 over them — sturdy, and it works, but the G10 catches in a pocket and adds bulk the knife does not need. Our CNC-machined aluminum scales swap the G10 and delete the clip-side liner, because the aluminum is already doing that liner's job. The scale is machined to seat the factory washer where the liner used to sit, so both of the knife's washers go back in and nothing extra is needed.

We machine them in-house from solid 6061-T6 billet, pocketed to clear the lock and the remaining liner for a drop-in fit on the stock hardware. The lock side keeps its steel, so the compression lock still runs on what it was designed for. What you get back is cleaner geometry, less catch on the draw, and a Para 3 that comes off the bench 0.30 oz lighter than factory — still heavier than the Lightweight, which is the point of the standard Para 3.
