Wear and Tear

NOTE: As you use your knife day in and day out you will notice wear in the finish. Both on the blade and the handles (scales). This is normal for metal parts that have a coating on the metal. Over time the coating will wear in places (usually edges) down to the bare metal. This process of "wearing" has been described as a patina finish. With aluminum products, there is no need to be concerned about rust forming on the wear spots. In conclusion, many of you will remove your knife from your pocket several times a day… Your knife handles (scales) will show signs of wear as a result.

*Cerakote is a ceramic-hardened coating — extremely durable but will eventually show edge wear with heavy use.*

Installation

For those new to the knife world, "scales" are the handle portion of the knife. This listing is for scales only, no knife is included. Purchase your Benchmade Bugout from an authorized retailer. An increasing number of clones (imitation knives) are being sold, so make sure to do your homework to confirm you are not unknowingly buying a counterfeit knife. To disassemble you will need T-6 and T-10 Torx drivers.
