Wear and Tear

NOTE: As you use your knife day in and day out you will notice wear in the finish. Both on the blade and the handles (scales). This is normal for metal parts that have a coating on the metal. Over time the coating will wear in places (usually edges) down to the bare metal. This process of "wearing" has been described as a patina finish. With aluminum products, there is no need to be concerned about rust forming on the wear spots. In conclusion, many of you will remove your knife from your pocket several times a day… Your knife handles (scales) will show signs of wear as a result.

*TYPE III Hardcoat Anodizing color will vary 'slightly' from batch to batch, and there will be mottling present on some scales. We will do our best to ensure these variations are minimal.*

Description

A cool neutral gray. Pulls slightly lighter than gunmetal, reads modern without being aggressive. Plays well with steel and titanium hardware.

Cored aggressively to keep the Bugout's slim profile intact. Replaces the stock Grivory scales over the existing nested steel liners. You're not adding weight you didn't want — you're trading polymer for aluminum at near-stock carry mass. The aluminum stiffens the frame in a way Grivory never did.

Installation

For those new to the knife world, "scales" are the handle portion of the knife. This listing is for scales only, no knife is included. Purchase your Benchmade Bugout from an authorized retailer. An increasing number of clones (imitation knives) are being sold, so make sure to do your homework to confirm you aren't unknowingly buying a counterfeit knife. To disassemble you'll need T-6 and T-10 Torx drivers.
